Leinpfad / Isenbergstraße 48 (near DLRG), 45529 Hattingen
Seeweg (at the Olpe leisure pool), 57462 Olpe
The Bergisch Panorama Radwege connects the Ruhrgebiet, Bergisches Land and Sauerland over a distance of almost 133 kilometers. It is also suitable for several stages. An orange sign shows you the way and you
can look forward to many extraordinary insights and views
14 tunnels, viaducts up to 40 meters high and numerous bridges with wonderful views of wide landscapes or the sea of houses in Wuppertal - you can now discover by bike what the art of engineering once developed for the railways.
Experience the wooded and water-rich low mountain range landscape, exciting traces of industrial culture and plenty of highlights that invite you to make a stop: for example the Müngsten Bridge Park under Germany's highest railroad bridge, the small floating ferry across the Wupper, which requires muscle power. Or the hill to Burg Castle, where the cable car also helps bikes (not e-bikes) to climb.
Part of the "Route of the Water Quintet" takes you past blue reservoirs, through the castle town of Hückeswagen and the Hanseatic town of Wipperfürth. On the final stretch from Marienheide to Olpe in the Sauerland, the Bergisch Panorama Radwege then runs along normal cycle paths.
Tip for the cycling season: the Bergische FahrradBus
From April to October, the "Bergische FahrradBus" runs between Leverkusen-Opladen and Marienheide on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. It stops in Hückeswagen and Wipperfürth along the Bergisch Panorama Radwege. This means you can cover part of the route comfortably by bus. Since 2019, there has been an additional route from Burscheid via Odenthal to Bergisch Gladbach. There is space for up to 20 bikes on the trailer and in the bus at the same time.
